So we all remember the story of the summer: Anheuser Busch, the longtime St. Louis brewer, and one-time owner of the Cardinals, was bought out by Belgian brewer InBev for the ungodly sum of $52 billion. And there was nothing we could do about it. Despite our best efforts of trying to drive up the stock price by buying and drinking everything AB we could get our hands on (even the Chelada, a Budweiser mixed with clam and tomato juice... ugh), our plan was destined for failure. The economic wheels of capitalism just kept on rolling, and St. Louis’ major symbol of corporate relevance fell into the hands of those despicable Belgians. Well, that’s not completely fair. I’ve never met these Belgians, and for all I know they could be some of the nicest people this side of the Rheinland, but let’s not kid ourselves; I’m probably never going to meet these Belgians. But, the second best thing I can do is meet their beers. So, unlike that time your dad got remarried and all of a sudden you got a bunch of new step-brothers and sisters, we’re going to greet our new family as objectively as possible, and decide whether they’re worry or not based on taste alone. If they’re acceptable based on the standards of taste and quality that we hold all Anheuser Busch products, then we shall anoint them the honor of being Busch League. If not, they will be scorned and stamped with the lowly title of Bush League, and thrown back on the pile. So once again:
Busch League = worthy of Adolphus Busch himself
Bush League = back to Belgium with you!
I’m thirsty - let’s start drinking... (that means click here to read more)

An introduction to the newest (well, we think) members of the A-B family

I've always like Hoegaarden and Stella Artois is okay. just hate to see a great American-owned and operated company get bought out.
