We leap from bar to bar to check out the area’s best rooftop views
Once you take the elevator to the top floor, you walk out of the little lobby and sure enough, you’re on the roof. Views are nearly all the way around: to the right, you’ve got the Loop proper, with the Tivoli Theatre in the foreground, and all the classics like Blueberry Hill and Cicero’s further down. To the left, you’ve got what I like to call “Loop Jr.” with the Pageant right next door, Pi just across the street, and hopefully a lot of Eastward expansion. Look straight out across the street from the building and you’ve got trees upon trees, with Forest Park looming just a few blocks away, and a great view of the Art Museum, basking in all its glory at the top of Art Hill. Nothing the area needed more than a place to perch high atop itself, and reflect on how great it is. Ah, sweet vanity - I love it!
