Sugar Lounge

This place sucks. It tries too much to be like the LA and NY scenes that actually cater to an upper crust and celebrity clientele. This place is a sham for what it tries to be in the midwest. A bottle service, seriously. I've traveled the world and most of the clubs in St. Louis have such an obvious phony-esk about them I actually feel embarrassed for the people who live for this kind of place. It'll be gone in a few years and we'll all be much better for the fad. Me, I'm hittin' a local bar or perhaps and irish pub. These places have you leave the phony at the door. Better drinks, better company, better time!!

Report This ReviewMy girlfriend and I just had our birthday party here and we had an amazing time. Service was great and music was amazing. Love the white decor and the staff was very friendly. Bathroom waiting was a little long, but other than that my friends and I had a great time.
Report This Reviewi had reservations on my birthday.. i was disappointed when the server served our expensive champagne in plastic cups! and they have dom perignon on the menu! are they going to serve a 250$ bottle out of plastic too? if i spend 100$ on a bottle of champagne, i expect the establishment to have proper glass wear.
the manager did invite me back when i called back to complain, and he gave us a cheapy bottle of sparkling on the house. but i still havent been back.
My sister and I had a bday bash planned out at the sugar lounge last night. We arrived to find our names not on the list as promised, and then entered the club finally to find the "hip hop" section closed off. When asked why it was closed the GM said it would open in 20 minutes. It was already 11pm. We demanded our money back and told the GM we were very disappointed with all the problems and broken promises. He was apologetic but fell on deaf ears. They wasted most of our night and we all headed down the street to Lure, which was also a bust but way better than Sugar Lounge.
Report This ReviewThis place will lie to you about their VIP, overcharge you for nasty well drinks. If you go just do general admission dont fall in to their used car salesman pitch.
Report This ReviewBased on the name of the place, I was expecting something more like a spacious lounge with quality music. This however, is a personal preference. If you are looking for a dance club with incredibly loud music and strange men wearing masks on the dance floor, this might be the right place, just consider this a warning regarding their gratuity charges and disappointing service. Most surprising to me was the 20% gratuity that was automatically added to my tab. Their bottle prices are high enough. I am typically not one to complain about service (I have experience in the industry) however the service we received was not worth 20%. Before we received our overpriced bottles, one of the servers dropped a glass and made a pretty weak attempt at cleaning up the shattered pieces. I am not sure if the 20% gratuity is a management decision or if our server just broke up with her significant other that night and decided to take it out on me, but I doubt I will make my way back.
Report This ReviewCool crowd, great music, drink deals, intimate set-up, love going there for drinks
