I wish I had such nice things to say about Robust. Unfortunately, I couldn't get past our waiter's pretentious and snotty attitude to enjoy my meal...

'Roll Out the Red Carpet' flight
$12
Flights are always a great way to try a lot of stuff without overdoing it, so we opted for this one. The wines at Robust Wine Bar are listed under eight different categories of body style, so you know exactly what to expect. We selected a flight with two “soft hearted” and one “generous” wine. They even lay down a handy sheet that explains what you’re getting and where it is, so you know what you’re tasting and when. The D’Aragon had a sharp and sweet scent and a flavor that only flirted with the smoky taste of most semi-dry red wines. It was pleasantly mellow. The Paitin had a sharper taste than the first wine and left a nice residual warmth behind after you drank it, but without any aftertaste. Very nice. The Cycles “Clement” ended up being the favorite of these three. It was sharper than the previous wine, and had a smoked-in-wood flavor that my husband described as tasting “the way you feel on a cold night in front of a fireplace.”
