The vibe
We arrived around 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday night and the place was hopping. The only seats were in their wine shop (away from the action) and at the bar, so we took the bar. The inside is a study in classy simplicity. A large, square bar sits near the middle of the room surrounded by tables and booths. There’s a bit of art on the walls, but not too much, and the area is partially lit by little white Christmas lights along one wall. Another nice touch is the bar top lined with old wine corks. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel sophisticated just by stepping into it. Can I also mention that the bar stools are pretty perfect? So often they have no foot rest or ones that happen to be at the wrong height for me. These, though, were in the exact right spot, and there was another foot rest on the bar itself so I could stretch out a bit and not leave my feet dangling.
