You know there was a time when most of the Blues all lived in Georgetown Apartments. Not sure if Bobby did, but that time in hockey brings me back to Slap Shot and Bobby's Place - both iconic. If you liked Slap Shot, you'll like the real feeling of Bobby's Place and the regular type of fans you'll be drinking with.

Hessler's Pub has a much better karaoke system than other places I go to. I don't know how they do it but the karaoke guys there make you sound really good. My voice has never sounded better plus they have a light system unlike anything I've ever seen at karaoke. Really enjoyed the food too.

Boasting a 15 year legacy as south county's premier karaoke hotspot, Hessler's Pub attracts karaoke singers and spectators from all over the St. Louis area. The collective vibe of Hessler's Pub (where karaoke youngbloods mix with karaoke alumni and everybody gets a round of applause) imparts magical powers on singers as first timers blossom into American Idols and seasoned singers transform into Golden Gods!
sperks wrote about Hessler's Pub
The karaoke service provider at Hessler's has been there over 15 years and knows how to make karaoke the best that it can be. In my opinion, it is the best karaoke venue to be seen and "heard". The DJs are friendly and the song selection is quite good. There's a stage to sing on and work the crowd from. And you get to perform on a massive sound system with a specular light system to make you feel like a real American Idol. According to Steve Perks of Axis Productions & Karaoke (the company that provides the noise and spectacle), it is "the greatest karaoke sound and lighting system in the world! and soon to get even better!" Perhaps he's exaggerating a bit, but this is definitely several levels above the standard "two speakers and a derby light" that karaoke is known for. Under previous ownership, this stage was apparently once graced by some of St. Louis' most promising young original music acts as well as some seasoned cover bands - some of which featured well known names in the St. Louis live music scene and many who still pack rooms around town. While the live music at Hessler's has gone by the wayside, the karaoke is still alive and well. Karaoke singers love the place because they always sound great and feel like a star under all those lights synchronised to the tempo of the song they're singing. But this is all no happy accident. It is attributable to the DJs who host shows there - some of them who themselves have sang and played in bands and still do. These days, DJ Rich (known as DR on the marqee/karoke queue) hosts most of the shows and he is a whirlwind of energy working the room and hipping up a concert style lighting sequence while you sing. He sings! He jumps! He scores! Drawing on years of knowledge and experience performing in bands, running commercial sound and light systems, and bringing karaoke to the masses - the DJs at Hessler's know how to make an average singer sound look and sound great and a great singer feel like a Golden God! But the best part is that they know how to make you feel good about the experience ... and make you wanna come back and do it again. HEY DJ ... GET ME UP NEXT!

This establishment has such potential with it's breathtaking views of river. That is my compliment. I received a gift certificate last Christmas for services at Aeries Winery. I put it in the drawer and when I looked at it last weekend, I saw that it had an expiration date of 11/27/12. Since I was scheduled to work and could not use the GC before it's expiration, I called the owner, Sandy, and asked for an extension. She said no. She explained the GC was only good 1 year from purchase. I asked if they could at least extend the GC to 12/25/12, which is a year from when I received it. She said she would ask her husband and call me back. She did not call me back. I think this is bad business! It ended up that I was cancelled from work on the expiration date, so hubby and I took a late afternoon drive up the river and went to Aerie's and used our gift certificate. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset overlooking the Illinois River. Our food and drink was adequate and our service was impeccable since we were the only patrons. I will not not go back. Also, be careful if you decide to come after reading all the mostly negative reviews- They only take cash. You have to buy water, they will not bring you a glass of water and you are not allowed to take your own water. The bathrooms are outside, so don't go when it's cold.

DON'T GO HERE!!! That is what I am telling my friends now and will continue to tell them. There are too many other bars to visit to put up with the games that Joujins Plays with you. My brother-in-law and I had frequented this place often with our wives. That was until we showed up with about 16 in our party last night. We found out that they charge a $10 minumum drink cover charge for parties that exceed 8. Here we were bringing them business, and they insult us by charging that. My brother-in-law and I easily cover that two times over just between ourselves, but they wouldn't accept this. We will NEVER go back to Joujins again.

Sub Zero is the place to be! The Worlds Fair burger is the best burger I have ever had and a very close second to the amazing Bahn Mi sandwich on the menu. Not a sushi fan, but, my friends say it beats anywhere else they have been. The bartenders are creative and friendly and they have some amazing servers. Great atmosphere! Great Food! Great Staff!
equalrights wrote about Pure Ultralounge & Bistro
I have never understood the concept of paying an establishment money to spend money in their bar, furthermore, I dont believe that their should be an inflated cover charge to offset the bars attempt to get more women into the establishment. If it was a first class establishment, women would want to go there and the male clientele should not have to pay an inflated cover charge to offset the womens free drinks. I do believe in equality in the world and the women and men can pay for their own drinks, open their own doors and meet whom ever they desire on their own terms. If the entertainment is so great they should make enough money to cover the costs of their entertainment from food and drinks alone.

They may be Bad Dogs but boy are they good! Good, strong drinks, friendly staff make it very enjoyable. It's a Gay Leather bar but they welcome anyone and it shows. The bands they had there this past Friday night were some of the best out there and the venue is awesome for concerts. The food is amazing and they have one of the bast burgers in town

I've been going to O'Aces on and off for about a year, and when I went in tonight I was pleasantly surprised to find that the place has a brand new menu. Before, it was your typical sports bar food, like wings and t-ravs, but now they have absolutely amazing things like Duck Taco's and Pulled Pork Sliders. I had an order of the Taco's and some wontons filled with cream cheese and jalapeno's and they were both to die for! They are really stepping things up out there, and I'm excited to go back and try some more :)

I feel like Keeton's Double Play in South City (at Christy and Kingshighway) also has a shuttle - I could be wrong though!
