Busy Interesting Spot

My husband and I arrived after dinner hour to find a packed house but found a small table for two in the back. The service was so, so. She seemed irritated that the place was so busy so she had no eye contact and wasn't personal at all. Understanding it was a wine bar I still thought they would have a more unique beer selection and maybe even a few small micro brews on tap so that left something to be desired for my husband. Our food was pretty good. Everything has a kind of intelligent rustic quality. Alas it was a good meal and fun place to eat I just wished the service was better. The staff seemed to be very unorganized as if they had never worked together before. As long as it didn't effect our food order I wouldn't care but because of this our pizza was under baked, and our three courses came to our table at the same time. Our very small table I might add. So we had no room to relax and enjoy or food. We felt rushed and really didn't get to savor any of the wonderful things we ordered. I would go back but not for anything more than wine.

Great Place to Relax

I've been to Sasha's several times since moving to St. Louis. I've been with just the girls, hanging out on the patio with colleagues, and for a couple of romantic evenings with my husband. The place is small, so it can get a little cramped, but the relaxing atmosphere, and fantastic food and wine selection make up for it.

It's a little pricey for us graduate students, but we try to save a chunk of our budget to go there several times a year. We love it!

Re: The worst service experience-- Please Read

This is Kevin, the bartender. I want to personally apologize for your experience that night. The bar had just filled up, and apparently our communication as a staff wasn't so hot during those twenty minutes. Please either call the Demun location or come in on a Saturday, Sunday, or Monday evening so i can make it up to you with a gift certificate or a round of drinks. Again, my apologies...

The Worst Service Experience!

Sasha's Wine Bar has good wine and food, however, I have never been so insulted like I was this past Saturday night. I arrived at the bar to a dining room that was full, we waited a few minutes for a few seats to open up, which happened to be at the bar. We were greeted by Kevin, a bartender, and he asked if we were eating. We declined and said just drinks and that we needed a minute. A few minutes later a table opened and we sat right next to the bar. The table still had dirty glasses and the guest check still on the table. We put the dishes at the end of the table to be removed by one of the service personell. I gave Kevin about another 8 min. before I went up and told him to tell whoever had that table we would like to order a few drinks. He stated everyone shares the tables, so I restated that we would like to order drinks. After 5 more minutes a group of 6 girls walked in and sat down at a table. Kevin, after making his rounds at his other tables, went directly over to take a drink order from the women. He must of sensed us glaring at him because he immediately came over to take our drink order. He took our order and went back to the table of 6 women. After another 5 min. without any drinks, he proceeded to bring a bottle of wine over to the women opened it and poured a glass for each of them. 5 more minutes after that we stopped him and angrily asked him where our drinks were. He went and got three glasses of red wine, one was suppose to be a white, and told me that they were out of the beer that I had ordered. We were in disbelief, because instead of appollogizing he began to make excuses that another girl was suppose to bring us our drinks. We recapped the sequence of events with him and he began to make more excuses. He told us that he thought we already had drinks looking to the pile at the end of the table and the guest check still there. He then proceeded to take an attitude that we we were in the wrong. We got right up and walked out, enraged.
