Ten things to check out on Cherokee Street
1. Cranky Yellow
2847 Cherokee St.
Cranky Yellow is Cherokee Street’s first combination shop, gallery and performance space and features an eclectic mix of art, fashion, music, literature and kitsch. Proprietors David Wolk and Angelo Stege represent the more than 70 artists whose work is showcased in the shop. To date, Cranky Yellow has put more than $9,200 in the hands of independent artists. Look to Cranky Yellow to host events and exhibits unlike any that you’ll find in St. Louis. Case in point: the upcoming “Crap Glued to Crap” installation—a collaborative window display of crap glued (and sewn) to crap, which opens on May 8.
