“One year I guess I didn’t get the memo and showed up at my aunt and uncle’s a little too early. They were still in their pajamas and said that since I was already there I might as well help cook dinner. I was washing a dish as my uncle, in his robe and underwear, was pulling the turkey out of the oven. He must’ve been watching the parade or not paying attention or something because he dropped half of the thing on the kitchen floor. I said ‘Whoa’ and tried to grab it, but it was too late. We ended up cutting half of the turkey off, but there was turkey juice all over the floor for the rest of the day.”
Moral of the story? Always arrive fashionably late.
