I am a retired firefighter from a department in Central Missouri. I have been following the news stories about Lafatette Fire Company No. 1 for about three weeks. I was excited about going to eat there and I did on January 3rd. It is a great place to go for a casual lunch or dinner and a great family resturant. Firefighters are unique cooks with some unusual dishes and I strongly recommend the meatloaf it is unlike anything your mother fixed for Sunday dinner it is great. Being a fellow firefighter I know that the food and atmosphere is going to improve 100% once these guys get the feel for running a resturant along with fighting fires. The prices are great and when you pay go to pay your bill add a little extra on for the Missouri Childrens Burn Center. If you choose not to add a little extra on to the bill on your way home stop by the burn unit at Childrens Hospital or Cardinal Glennon and you will the next time you visit Lafatte Fire Company No 1. Great job guys I will definitely be back

Zero stars for this one! Let me set the scene - New Year's Eve...made early reservations so we could avoid the rush - dinner took 2.5 hours. HORRIBLE SERVICE - even the "manager" was a JOKE. Watched 5 tables get up and leave b/c it took over 20 minutes before anyone would even take their drink order. NEVER would I refer anyone to this place - it looks like a nice place from their website and even when you walk in it looks great - but as the old saying goes...never judge a book by it's cover. I'm not sure how this place has stayed open with the type of service we received. A simple apology would have gone a long way, however don't expect anyone there...not even the "manager" would apologize for their horrible service. This is by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Happy New Year!!

I would never write a review on here and take the time unless so you know the experience was horrible. What a ripoff, the place wants you to pay 10 to get in then upgrade to 15 for VIp then if you get bottle service prepare to have your credit card jacked. they willl run your card with false charges and then you can not reach this place. This place will be shut down in 9 months. watch. I am going to the better business burea with a complaint because of how they stole from me. the club sucks, the dance floor sucks, the tables suck, nothing wa good. They say they have some great DJ... where? playing top 40 is a great DJ?

I noticed that metromix lists this restaurant as "not accepting reservations" but in actuality they do. We had a group of about 6 and had called ahead to make a reservation. The girl on the phone also mentioned to us that there is a free parking lot in back as well as the parking meters in front. The food was delicious! A large portion of the menu is under $8.99 and the portions are sizeable. The food is mostly homemade and tastes like it. The smoked turkey is really tasty, as is the mac and cheese and fries. They have a really beautiful interior, all done up for the holidays. They also had pretty good happy hour specials and $3 beers ranging from pacifico to schlafly to anheuser busch products. Highly recommend.

Electric Cowboy....St. Charles' newest hot spot for both country music and dancing as well as hip hop. Look them up on the internet. They have 40+ clubs in the U.S. It has four bars...it hasn't been around long, but it continues to be packed week after week. So, come on out for New Years Eve for an evening you won't forget!

If you like dry rubs, this place is for you. My husband and I really enjoyed the spicy dry rub on the chicken & ribs. I definitely suggest ordering the baked beans as a side as well. This place is a great example of comfort food.

The Drunken Fish Laclede's Landing was a great place to have dinner and drinks. The atmosphere was very trendy and the music was very good. We came in for the happy hour and wound up staying for dinner as well. We will be back very soon.

I have been all over and this is the best place I have found in St. Louis. I was in town for business and came in for lunch. We got so much food for what we paid. It was all great and we got to try a lot. We came back for happy hour and had a lot of fun. The bartender was very entertaining, made us not want to leave.

dengle wrote about The Stable

My and 8 of my friends went for dinner, and loved the atmosphere and the food - including their own brewed beer and rum. We continually had to flag down our waiter anytime we needed anything. We went to dinner before going to a play, and allotted 2.5 hours for dinner, but because we kept having to flag the waiter down, ended up in a big time crunch. Then, 4 of the 5 tickets were wrong, we sent the tickets back, and the waiter brought back 2 that were still wrong. Because we had to leave, we decided to just pay the wrong amount and settle it between ourselves. My debit card then got swiped 4 times. It took several calls to the restaurant, and after almost 2 weeks, so far I have only been credited back 2 times - so there is still 1 outstanding debit. I cant get them to return my calls now, and so I have to have my bank work on it. The bank tells me it could take up to 2 weeks to get my account credited back. As a result of the service problems, and the fact that they restaurant management has not followed through, none of us plan on ever going back. If you decide to check it out (the food and alcohol really were good) - take cash and plan to spend 2-3 hours on dinner.

IrishBama wrote about O'Malley's Irish Pub

I was blessed to stumble upon this place during my brief stay in St. Louis. The scenery alone of Cherokee and Lemp would excite history lovers alike but the atmosphere inside this Irish tavern stands alone. I was intrigued with it all. The old brick walls have absorbed nearly a century of memories with a hint of Jameson and celtic music in the air. The neighborhood comes together in this unique pub. They treated a southern boy like me as family and I carry a piece of them in my heart. So take a happy hour out of your day to see that these words weren't embellishments. So order a Smithwick's, take a minute to look at the pictures on the walls, soak it all in, and give me a big smile when you see the Bama tag. Family never forgets family.

jonnyc1971 wrote about Andria's

I had heard good things about Andria's and being a steak person, I thought I'd try it. Maybe it was an "off-night" or the barage of Christmas party patrons, but to me it left alot to be desired. We arrived a promptly at our reservation time 6 pm, only to find out that they had seated a walk-in right before us. Then they seated another 2 person party while we were waiting! Finally, 10 minutes after our reserved time we were seated. Drinks, appetizers & salads were served quickly, but it was 30 minutes after our salads that our entrees' arrived. I ordered the 24oz sirloin and prepared to cut into it, only to find alot of fat and gristle. I know that some fat marbling adds to the steak flavor, but not in this case. I was prepared to enjoy a famous Andria's "melt in your mouth" steak...nope, a mediochre, tough cut of meat. I paid $35 for this steak?? Frustrated from the reservation screw up, having to wait longer than expected for the entree(which the waitress apologized for) and then the disaapoint of the "famous" steak, we had to hurry to eat and try to carve up what I could salvage of my steak, put our whole evening behind schedule as I had to have my wife at her surprise party by 7p. I don't mind having to pay or wait for good cuisine, but not in this case. Not impressed.
