NEW YORK (AP) — NBC's struggling Today show will be getting a leadership change.

An NBC News executive says Monday that the morning show's executive producer, Jim Bell, is being replaced. The executive spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the plan is not finalized.

No successor to Bell has been appointed. The executive says veteran NBC News executive Alexandra Wallace will oversee the show's day-to-day management. NBC Sports says Bell will become executive producer of the network's Olympics telecasts, a role he filled this summer.

The change at the morning news show was first reported by The New York Times.

The long-dominant Today show has fallen into second place in the morning ratings behind ABC's Good Morning America.
