Tom Hanks’ movie is all talk, check out the real things
Religious iconography and the movie world have not always been the most logical fit—Hollywood has a hard time handling subjects that might divide audiences based on their faith. But that doesn’t mean filmmakers aren’t above a little exploration, or exploitation, of the concept of angels and demons.
Ron Howard’s “Da Vinci Code” sequel “Angels & Demons,” opening May 15, doesn’t actually feature any heavenly messengers or fiendish creatures on screen. So in order to make up for the false promises of the title, we’re taking a look at five each of the more notable angels and demons in cinematic history. —S. James Snyder, Special to Metromix
