Beth Bombara celebrates new album

If you've been reading this blog, you know it's obvious I love singer-songwriters. Okay, clearly, I'm obsessed with them. But the thing that's finally becoming evident to me is that we have quite a few talented ones right here in our city. And near the top of that list is Beth Bombara, who will be putting on an album release party this Friday at Off Broadway.
Bombara caught my attention with her song, "Lately," which you can find on her new album, 'Wish I Were You.' The new offering is largely a duo project between Bombara and her husband, Kit Hamon, who recorded the album in their home. It's twangy, filled with beautiful violin and pedal steel, and I can't wait to hear what it sounds like live, especially at a great venue like Off Broadway.
One of the cool things about Bombara's new album is that it will be available on vinyl, thanks to a successfull Kickstarter project. Personally, I collect vinyl, and it's great to see artists like Bombara make an effort to release their art this way. If you come to the show on Friday ($10-13), your ticket includes a free download of 'Wish I Were You,' but you should also seek out a vinyl copy for yourself. This is music that was made for a turntable.
See you on Friday!
