Planet Us

Before there was Chickenfoot, there was the very short-lived supergroup Planet Us, which also featured former Van Halen and future Chickenfoot cohorts Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, joined this time by guitarist Neal Schon and drummer Deen Castronovo from Journey. The band formed in 2002 and only recorded two songs together, neither of which saw the light of day until 2008, when Sammy Hagar finally released them on his “Cosmic Universal Fashion” solo album (one track, “Vertigo,” was recorded for the soundtrack to the first “Spider-Man” movie but rejected by Sony Pictures). Joe Satriani briefly joined the band in 2003, planting the seeds for Chickenfoot.
