Charlotte Gainsbourg
Charlotte Gainsbourg has become a Renaissance woman of sorts: bold actress (most recently, opposite Willem Dafoe in "Antichrist"), outré electronic pop singer, hipster crush extraordinaire. The daughter of French musical legend Serge Gainsbourg and British actress Jane Birkin, she enlisted some formidable talent on her 2006 debut album, bringing in fellow countrymen Air and Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker. More recently, Beck hopped on board for the singer's latest, "IRM." At this wispy, sometimes nervy, American debut performance, Gainsbourg mined mostly from the new album—but also played her adored cover of Bob Dylan's "Just Like a Woman" from the movie "I'm Not There." Luckily, Metromix was there, and we have the photos to prove it.
