After three tries, I finally made it when they were open. I know I should have figured out their hours beforehand, but I didn't think they'd be closed so early or on a Sunday and Monday. I arrived a little before 1pm to pick up some lunch. They were out of ribs, brisket, and prime rib. The only meat items left were sausage and pulled pork. I was upset. I really wanted the other things, but I settled for what was left. At least it was still really good. I ordered a regular size and that's enough for two people so I would say it's a great price especially because it comes with two sides. I liked the potato salad. It didn't taste like vinegar and they put dill in it. The beans were okay but I felt like they were overwhelmed with bbq sauce. Next time I go, I'm going to have to show up bright and early!

I thought the food was great. It is a very small place, so if you want to eat there you need to go at an off time. I wish they had pulled chicken like Pappy's, but the pulled pork was fabulous

Went for lunch at 11:30. There was a short line but it went quickly. Food was great and you got a large portion. Employees were very friendly and helpful. The only problem was the seating. There weren't many tables and once you got one you felt like you shouldn't keep it too long since people were waiting for them. Great place to get a meal to go. They also need to add a daily special and chicken.

I read the Metromix review and wondered "did we go to the same place?". the food is nowhere near as good as Pappy's, the pork and pastrami we had were both just okay
and the sides were relatively bland. The short line moved quickly and food arrived hot but the employees seemed un-interested and not particulary friendly. If I was Pappy's I wouldn't talk about whatever connection is there.

I was down last week and had rude (uninterested) service from the person taking my order. Then the food took forever. Needless to say it was not going well off the bat, but I had heard such good things I figured I had to give it a shot. In a word it was awful. My meat was half fat and overcooked. The sides were bland and the place was freezing. With all the other options in Soulard and downtown, I would skip Bogart's and go with a place that deserves your hard earned money.
