After searching the Metro area for good BBQ for several years we have finally found a quaint little restaurant in, of all places,Cahokia.Great Food and the service was exceptional. Had ribs and chicken and enjoyed both very much. Try the beans and fried pickles, they are wonderful.

I am a BBQ junkie and absolutely love Sawmill. Everything I've had is just down right delicious. I have to say the ribs and brisket are my favorite, but the pork and chicken are also good. I highly recommend the baked beans and if you are really hungry try the nachos. Nothing else like it. I have never waited more than 10 minutes for my food and the workers are very friendly. I love looking at all of the decorations. I've sent several people and we all agree it is the best bbq in St. Louis.

Road Trip BBQ JUNKIES

My wife and I have road tripped all over the U.S. and we especially look for BBQ. We've had BBQ many many places throughout the U.S. The Sawmill was the best ever. I spotted it by chance around lunch time. We turned around and went back. What a surprise...THE BEST BBQ EVER for us. We are back in Michigan wishin' we could go tothe SAWMILL. :-(

Mediocre bar b que that took way too long to be served. 1/2 hour for a simple bar b que plate to go is unacceptable. Don't bother going for lunch unless you have an hour. The serving staff in back is pathetically slow. I can go to Bandana's and get just as good in far less time.

Real Southern Style BBQ

First time in and I am hooked. A REAL BBQ shack at its best. Excellent food, friendly staff, great prices. What more could you ask for. Family owned which i prefer over chains because they just do it better. I highly recommend everyone to try this place. It is a diamond in the rough for sure. Well worth the trip.
