Baseball’s great, but we’re really just here for the food
By Josh Gilbert, Special to Metromix
I don’t know about you, but when I get word from a friend that he’s got an extra ticket to the game, the first thing I think is “what am I gonna eat first?” Yeah, it’s thrilling to watch the competition on the field and the strategy coming from the dugout, but have you ever realized how boring the game really is? I mean, aside from all the breaks in between innings, we still have to sit through pitch counts and foul balls and the dreaded warm up; my God, the warm up! Essentially, for half the game nothing is happening, and I have to sit through it. I—for one—need a little stimulation, ergo in comes the food and drink, which has always been America’s real favorite pastime. We hit up the area’s three major and minor league ballparks to see who had the best offerings, despite what may (or may not) be happening on the field.
