Queso frito con salsa de Escalona
We started off with the Queso frito con salsa de Escalona, which is fancy-speak for fried goat cheese. It was served with olives (we’d soon discover everything had olives in it, or hanging out right next to it), and tasted just like it sounds – a cheese stick dressed up with goat cheese. A nice twist on a standard appetizer, and with one in the hole, we were ready to go for several more.
