I adored "My Family." Then they changed the name to Mi Familia. The name went from English to Spanish, and the food went from real taqueria fare of the finest order to Americanized, hard shell taco blandness. It feels like a friend has died. It's still not as bad as many area "Mexican restaurants," such as Acapulco (right down the road) or the El Magueys/El Nopals, but it's not worth giving a try.

Several years ago, this place was almost unknown. It was a taqueria in the back of a Mexican convenience store. Then they made it all restaurant, and moved their store across the street. The prices went up, and with the liquor license came a bar where local St. Annites sit and smoke cigarettes. If you go there, make it early, say, before noon, to avoid the stink of tobacco. All you need to know is, "Un burrito, con asada, frijoles y aguacate."
The salsas are divine.
