Zuzu's is not you typical Mexican food place, and while it is not the best Mexican you can find in St. Louis, it is good. It is difficult to explain, but there dishes bear the names of traditional Mexican foods, but tend to depart from the norm ever so slightly. I used to frequent Zuzu's in Clayton all the time, but have moved away so it is not as convenient anymore. I go with the chicken enchiladas and the corn salad. I would suspect that the previous poster was not expecting vinegar in the salad. It's almost like a Mexican slaw. Overall, they are pretty quick and put out a good consistent product.

I like their food. My wife likes it a lot. Pricey, so I never go there unless I find a coupon. The pureed black beans are especially good.

I was looking forward to trying a new Mexican restaurant;it was one of the all time worst meals I've ever had.The corn salad tasted spoiled. The tray I carried my food to the table on was so sticky on the bottom,it repulsed me.My chicken burrito was entirely flavorless,so I poured salsa on it.That was flavorless too.The chips were stale, out of a generic bag.The guacamole was so bad I couldn't eat that either,so I went down the street to Chipotle Grill and had a great burrito. No wonder we were the only ones in the whole place.
