I live pretty close to Lafayette Square. When I heard Soda Fountain Square was closing, I was a bit bummed. I mean, it wasn't the best spot in town by any means, but it was cheap - and had some throwback items that really helped quiet your hunger. The space housing the restaurant was closed for a couple of months, when word of a new venue started circulating. A bar and restaurant owned entirely by local firefighters and EMS? It sounded cool, so I was ready to check out Lafayette Square Fire Company No. 1. It's got a classic firehouse menu, so how did the place stack up?
