I have ridden my bike by The Fountain on Locust so many times but have never stopped there. That is until today. I saw the article earlier this week and the dill pickle soup piqued my interest. It haunted me to a certain extent, and after perusing their menu online I knew I had to give the place a try. The restaurant space is pretty cool, with an old cabinet radio greeting you at the enterance and an old school soda counter in the middle of the room. I ordered the Blackhawk, a sandwich made with roast beef, goat cheese, and roasted red peppers and the dill pickle soup of course. Both were fantastic. The dill pickle soup was like nothing I had tried before, and I stepped it up by adding a pinch of the shoestring chips that came as a side. Dessert, the server asks . . . uh yeah. I ordered the Dark and Sinister. Chocolate heaven. Enough said.

I'm so glad metromix found the fountain, it is my favorite place to get lunch. I call daily to ask about the soup of the day. Their chicken tortilla is my favorite. They have mini pizzas which are delicious and their sandwiches top notch. Really this is a great article and I'm so glad one of my favorite places to eat is getting some attention.

i love the fountain on locust and glad that metromix did too!! the young and friendly staff gives casual, but wonderful service...and they prepare everything but the food it seems. my boyfriend had one of their ice cream martini's (i didn't want that many calories) and said it was fabulous; and the ice cream itself is top-notch. p.s., check out the craziness of the bathrooms--the coolest bathrooms ever!
