Dorm Room dinners at 33 Wine Bar
There are two seatings to the "Dorm Room" - one at 6 p.m. and one at 8 p.m. We got a seating at the 8 p.m. Now, 33 Wine Bar is normally closed on Monday nights, but the "Dorm Room" is an exception. We arrived on a cool, misty night to find about a dozen people gathered outside. As it turned out, the 6 p.m. seating wasn't through yet. No big deal, because it let me mingle with a few of the guests. I quickly found out that most of the people outside had been to the "Dorm Room" before. Many mentioned attending the first dinner, featuring Monarch's executive chef, Josh Galliano. This atmosphere is similar to the "Underground Dining" event we've featured in the past. You have to be in the know, it's all about word-of-mouth - there are no advertisements and you have to get on the waiting list early. Like, way early... I mean you have to call 33 a month ahead of time to get on the list. Anyway, after a few minutes outside, we were ushered in to our seats. My wife and I were right at the bar.
